Lee Alexander McQueen (1969-2010) was a gay English fashion designer that was known for his extreme fashion designs. He was one of the youngest fashion designers to achieve the title 'British Designer of the year'. Some of his celebrity customers include Lady Gaga, Bjork, Rihanna, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz. He was the creative director of Gucci and worked for 5 years as the head designer of Givenchy before founding his own label Alexander McQueen and McQ.
He was announced death on the afternoon of 11 February 2010. The Metropolitan Police note that the death was not suspicious but did not confirm if it was a suicide. The post-mortem examination found that McQueen's death was due to asphyxiation and hanging.
